The first Neveplast Tubing Park opens in Ireland at the Smugglers Cove

Neveplast Tubby lands at Smugglers Cove, in the heart of the Irish West Cork.

Located in Rosscarbery, right in the heart of the Irish West Cork, Smugglers Park is an 18-hole golf course, an ideal destination for families willing to spend some quality time together.
In addition to golf, Smugglers Cove offers numerous pirate-themed adventure courses and Ireland’s largest corn maze.
The big news of summer 2021 is the Neveplast Summer Tubing Park consisting of two straight tracks and one with an elevated parabolic that crosses the others and one Tubby Jump.

Geoff Wycherley, owner of Smugglers Cove, has bet on Neveplast tubing.

1)When did you open the Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf?
Rosscarbery Golf Driving Range opened in 1992 but it was 2012 when I changed the direction of the business towards more family orinated feel by building a pirate themed all weather adventure golf course. Then in 2013 I added a 3 dimensional timber maze and in 2014 I added Irelands Largest Maize Maze. It has been a busy few years and now we look forward to our biggest addition, Summer Tubing Park @ Smugglers Cove

2) When will the park reopen now and when will we be able to try the new Neveplast tubing?
The Park is reopening on Friday 30th April just in time for the May holiday. The tubing park is opening on Friday the 21st May. The week before we are holding a private press day to get the word out about this great new attraction in West Cork for the coming summer holidays.

3) Why did you decide to install Neveplast tube slides?
I have been looking for the next big addition to our park for a number of years. My criteria is simple, each activity has to be suitable for all the family to use and Neveplasts tube slides fit this request perfectly. I decided tubing was going to be installed in Smugglers Cove in early 2019 and it has taken 2 years to get to being ready to open it to the public.

4) Did you already know Neveplast beforestarting to collaborate with us?
The first I heard about Neveplast was on google. Then I met the company in Amsterdam at the trade show in 2019 and the project just moved forward from that point.

5) Why do you think tubing is so popular? What is the greatest advantage of tubing for you? Considering the costs of management, maintenance, hourly capacity and final income?

Tubing for me catches all the necessary point to be successful. Iy is suitable for neatly all the family, it can be used by the rider without any special clothing or equipment, it is easy ro price reasonably, it can manage a high throughput of users, it has the thrill and excitment impact for the customer, it is a new concept in Ireland.
For me as a park owner it ticks nearly all the boxes.

6) Where exactly is Smugglers Cove located? Is it a tourist area?

Smugglers Cove is located in Rosscarbery, West Cork. West Cork is on the start of the Wild Atlantic Way travel route and is one of Irelands most scenic tourist areas. West Cork is packed with tourists from April to September every year. West Cork and Rosscarbery are big family holiday areas with spectular beaches, beautifully colourful town and villages with very easy going people. The fresh food and fine dining restaurants make West Cork one of the jewels in the Irish tourust areas.

7) What is the park’s customer target?

The parks main target market is tourist families. This make sup about 60% of our business. We also have a very large teenager and earl 20’s market but families are what we set ourselves up to cater for best.

8) What are your expectations for summer 2021?
I feel summer 2021 is going to be the best summer evr if we get favourible weather. As the covid restyrictions lift in Ireland people are very much looking forward to making the most of this summer after a very ong winter of lockdowns. The tubing park is going to add greatly to Smugglers Cove and will draw in a new customer target market also. I am very musvh looking forward to this summer.

9) What’s your opinion of Neveplast?
I can only say good things about Neveplast and the excellent workers there. From the first meeting we had with Niccolo, Cesare, Alessandra and Claudio to the final installation with Luca (and welcome advice from Rob) I am very very happy with the service and quality of the finished job by Neveplast. The process was obviously more difficult because of covid but we all stuck at it and the result is the first Tubing Park in Ireland.
I am delighted with how the park is starting to look and the quality of the materials is excellent. The feedback I have received from the few users so far has been very encouraging. I now look forward to the real judges, the customers, telling me what they think of the new addition to Smugglers Cove later in May.

I am sure we will have some teething problems once we open but i am confident I can rely on the excellent service of Neveplast if needed.
