The third edition of the Winter Alpiniadi, the Winter Olympic games of the Alpini,
took place in Valle d’Aosta.
The most awaited competition was the Biathlon, run in the Aosta central square.
For the first time in history, this race was battled out on a city track, the Neveplast cross-country ski track. Chanoux square was at the heart of the biathlon athletes challenges. On the Neveplast track, around 250 meters long, competed 200 athletes. In the gun range the athletes were shooting at targets with laser rifles.
The choice for this type of City race format proved to be extremely successful. This incredible show in the heart of Aosta was responded to by a warm and appreciative audience, who were able to enliven the square from early in the afternoon until late at night.
