Scandinavian Team Battle 2023: freestyle skiing and rock & roll at the Neveplast snowpark in CopenHill

For the third consecutive year the world’s elite of freestyle ski will meet on the roof of Copen hill. The most extravagant incinerator in the world on which you can ski all year round thanks to a new Neveplast slope that is rolls down from the summit to the base of the installation for over four hundred metres. The final part of the slope houses the snow park and here is where the best freestylers competed on a hot Saturday in June: jumping to try and win the Scandinavian Team Battle 2023 crown.

“This year’s Scandinavian Team Battle was a real success, the biggest event CopenHill has ever organised! It is amazing that the best skiers in the world come to Copenhagen in the summer to ski on a Neveplast slope. Format of the Competition

The format of the competition has remained untouched since the start with teams of five competitors from different countries: each of the ten riders impressed the audience and the judges with a high-level repertoire of range and difficulty. The Neveplast snow park was a great stage for the riders who on the Jump, rail, and other facilities, all of them big in dimensions, where the riders were running as it was in real snow. This year Neveplast was there as the main sponsor and, having seen the enormous success in public and media coverage, is already thinking about the summer of 2024.

In front of huge crowds on the stands and a jury of experts the bad boys of the Scandinavian Team Battle have once again shook Copenhagen and gave a show full of style, performance and creativity that had been missing for a long time on a freestyle competition. The easy access to the public, the great weather and impeccable organisation have been a strong point of the event in a magical location like Copenhill that hosts regular big events such as music, climbing competitions, trekking and many others.

Podium

Once again, the dynamic Swedish duo of Emil Granbom and Jesper Tjäder stole the show, securing their third consecutive victory in the Scandinavian Team Battle.

Team Denmark, with their home-court advantage, shredded. Isabella Tvede, the sole female competitor, conquered the rails with authority, while Jakob Ebskamp stomped the gap to the down-tube switch, the only one to do so in the competition. Team UK also made waves with Chris McCormick and Felix Klein flawlessly executing back-to-back blind 630’s out of the big cannon.

Team Switzerland secured third place, with Nicola Bolinger impressing the judges by skiing faster than ever seen at CopenHill Meanwhile,. Team Norway clinched second place, showcasing their skills throughout the day. First-time dry-slope skier Robert Ruud left a lasting impression with his technical rail abilities and a massive misty out of the cannon tube. Fellow Norwegian Johan Berg effortlessly flowed through the course and nailed the sickest cork 450 out of the cannon tube.
