Neveplast has just won an European wide tender to install two artificial ski slopes and four artificial snow tubing runs at the prestigious Hillend Snowsports Centre, near Edinburgh. The new ski slopes and tubing runs are part of a project that will re-establish Hillend Snowsports Centre at the forefront of the British Artificial Ski Slope Industry which boasts the longest artificial ski slope in Europe.
The new ski slopes, 1.100 square metres in total, will be realized with Neveplast NP30 product. After a careful evaluation and testing of different materials the local council has opted for Neveplast surface which met all the guarantees required by the customer: Neveplast NP30 has been chosen among several competitors thanks to its unique properties of slipperiness, excellent lateral grip, low maintenance costs (no irrigation and drainage systems needed), the possibility to use the same equipment used on the snow, high safety standards, and for its extraordinary durability.
The four Neveplast TUBBY slides will each be 60 meters long, two are straight and this allows to make races among users whereas two are supplied with breathtaking parabolic turns. The project, which has been developed together with customer, tend to meet a wide target without age distinction: high speed, high hourly capacity, extremely low management costs, are just some of the reasons why the customer has chosen Neveplast as reliable partner for the entertainment of its patrons, also for the snow tubing slopes. Both the ski and snow tubing slopes will be served by conveyor belts 60 metres long each and provided by Sunkid company.
The ground preparation work is already underway and the project is due for completion at the end of August 2012. Special thanks to our partners Robert Beavis and Stuart Murphy (Snowtraxx Company).
