April 2011, Mont Fort – Verbier (Switzerland).

From April 18 to 24 on the snow in Switzerland will take part the world speed skiing championship. The World Cup is already firmly in the hands of the athlete Simone Origone, from Champoluc-Italy,  who has dominated the whole season, always ahead of the standings. But the real news of this edition of the world speed skiing is signed Neveplast. Athletes of speed skiing will dash out from a very steep ramp, 35 metres long, covered by Neveplast surface, and built at an altitude of 3.300 metres, the highest point of the 4 Vallè – Verbier skiarea. Evaluated the impossibility of ground movements the XpeedSki organizers from Verbier have contacted Neveplast company to solve the problem of the insufficient inclination of the first part of the Mont Fort track. Huge deployment of means and incredible effort by the organizing staff that for more than 2 months is working to build the structure. The goal is to allow the athletes to beat the record set in Mont Fort slope of 219,89 km/h but first of all the world speed skiing record of 251,40 km/h , both property of the Italian champion Simone Origone. Those who will try to beat its record will be his younger brother Ivan and athlete from Verbier, Philippe May, ranked top 3 in the world, who is very motivated to do well on the own mountains.
